FACEIT demos vs. Matchmaking demos: which tell you more?

15 kwietnia 2026 · ClutchCoach

ClutchCoach parses both Valve matchmaking demos and FACEIT demos. The engine doesn't care which one you upload — but the feedback you get will feel different depending on the source.

Matchmaking demos

MM demos reflect a wider skill range and a more chaotic tempo. Good for players who want to iron out fundamentals: crosshair placement, utility basics, common positioning mistakes. The coach will spend more time on "don't peek without info" style notes because MM opponents rarely set up coordinated executes.

FACEIT demos

FACEIT demos, especially above level 7, look almost like scrims. Economy management matters more, utility coordination matters more, and mid-round calling actually exists. The coach shifts focus toward team-level decisions: did you support your entry, did you trade fast enough, did your save round actually save anything.

Which should you upload first?

If you're grinding Premier/MM ranks, start with MM demos — the feedback will be more actionable for the pool you're playing in. If you're climbing FACEIT levels, use FACEIT demos. Mixing them confuses the pattern detection across a long stretch of matches.

Bonus: if you connect your FACEIT account

We can pull your match history automatically, so you don't have to manually download each demo. The pipeline runs in the background and surfaces trends across dozens of matches instead of one-offs.
